Bill Walton is not only one of the greatest basketball players of all time, his passion for bikes is all-time, too.

In his book, “Back from the Dead, he writes, “My bike is the most important thing I have. It is my gym, my wheelchair and my church all in one.

So it was a joy to talk to Bill about his life-long love affair with bikes, and about his upcoming event, Bike For Humanity, which is a virtual event that Bill created as a way for all of us to show our solidarity in these times.

Bill and I also discuss the top-5, all-time, NBA ‘bike’ guys; and of course, I couldn’t let Bill go without talking a bit about music and our mutual love of Bob Dylan, so there’s a bit of Dylan and Grateful Dead talk in here, too.

In short, each of us ought to try to cultivate the exuberance and passion Bill has for life and bikes and people and nature and art and music, and I can’t overstate how much I appreciate the example he is setting for us.

And with that, please enjoy this conversation with the great Bill Walton.
