  1. Good episode! Totally agreed with Jonathan that the Hot Mess is my favorite graphic of the bunch. That’s gorgeous.

Also super interested in the Wildcat 108. Looking forward to a review of that one.

  2. What happened to the PB&J getting the triple camber treatment? I demoed a prototype of the triple camber PB&J at the Alpenglow demo and loved it.

  3. Hi Jonathan, great episode! Had me drooling over the thought of Moment’s the entire time.

My bindings have recently completely broken off from my 2012 Belafonte’s for the third time in the last 2 years or so (not Moment’s fault, I’m a very aggressive skier and have easily put on 300+ days on the skis over the years). They are my one-true-love’s, but it seems they are officially beyond repair and I must finally learn to move on :'(

I’m an ex-racer and realize that I have become very dependant on directional/traditional shapes. This is unfortunate as many ski companies seem to have moved far beyond the shapes that I have become so accustomed to. I also have a pair of 2013 Bibby’s that I’ve been using for deeper days for quite some time, but I still find myself struggling to handle their shape. I think it’s the extra width, extra length (190) and tail rocker that I’m struggling with the most.

The 2012 Belafonte’s were perfect. Nothing too fancy. A directional (twin-tip) shape with a very straightforward and manageable rocker in the tips that were hard-charging on the steeps and absolute drivers on groomers and crud. Sadly, I am back into the market and desperately searching for a replacement.

I’ve been reading your reviews on the Commander 108’s and they look like a potentially good option, although they still seem to have a fair bit of tip and tail taper with a considerable early rise in the tails (which, based on my history is throwing me off a little bit). Do you think the Commander’s can serve the Belafonte’s justice as a replacement? Might you also have any advice on other brands (ugh) with something similar to the Belafonte’s?

(If you’re reading this Moment, I would absolutely kill for the Belafonte’s to pop up in the Reserved lineup)

  4. I loved the episode and am psyched about 108 Bibby… On the other hand, other than a very few exceptions, moment top sheets from few years back were way better (space on new bibby looks silly compared to a beautiful 2012 top sheets). They need to go back to the roots.

  5. ah, one of my favorite episodes each year.

Unfortunately, one of my Commander 108s (with the new Salomon Shift) is sitting out most of this season under the snowpack as I lost it in the powder :-(
I hope to get it back in spring after the snow melt.

    Have fun!

  6. Oh please don’t put triple camber on the PB&J, that ski is PERFECT the way it is, the Bibby, Wildcat 108 and PB&J is the perfect 3 ski quiver for Tahoe

  7. After this podcast, it’s clear that Moment needs to develop a ski for the ladies called the “Hey Girl” with Gosling on the top sheet…
