Trip Report: Taos Ski Valley

Running a gear review site that publishes the most thorough reviews in the industry is a lot of hard work. But it has its perks, too.

Right now, across the entire mountain west, there is no better place to ski or ride—no better combination of terrain and snow—than Taos Ski Valley, period.

And since last Thursday, we’ve been testing a bunch of gear in absolutely amazing conditions.

(But mostly, we’ve just been having a ridiculous amount of fun.)

Photographer Ryan Heffernan was once again on the scene to provide a little taste of four perfect days at Taos. (You can see more of Ryan’s work in our Taos trip report from last season)

So take a look, then do yourself a huge favor and do whatever it takes to get down here. Seriously.

  1. Thanks for sharing.

I have a question/suggestion: will you do a gear review/comparison/best-of for snow gloves?

In the meantime, can you please share your suggestions for the warmest/most durable ski gloves?

    Thanks!

  2. Things look pretty good at Taos – I can dig the sun. Having a mere 105″ here in Alaska don’t suck tho. One of your testers is heading home for X-mas. He will have perfect conditions for testing out some fatties. Maybe I can play camera man. I’ve been pretty much skiing my Big Daddy’s all season.
