What RMU says about the Apostle 114 Wood

“The Apostle 114 builds upon the design of the award winning Apostle. A directional big mountain ski that is loved by every RMU member, from racers and freestyle athletes to the resort powder hounds. The design was assisted with RMU athlete Alex Armstrong, who was searching for a stable big mountain ski to suit her racing background.

We ensured the beloved characteristic of the Apostle series were kept in the production, agility and intuitiveness in determining your best way down the slope, while keeping it light without feeling you are on a wider ski. The quick release action to keep you out of trouble in tight situations, and keep a strong edge control when you pick up speed.

For 24/25 we have updated the core profile and flex patterns to make the ski have a more progressive flex tip to tail and have a more balanced feel.”

Flex Pattern

Here’s how we’d characterize the flex pattern of the Apostle 114:

Tips: 6.5
Shovels: 7-8
In Front of Toe Piece: 8.5-10
Underfoot: 10
Behind the Heel Piece: 10-9
Tails: 8.5-7

Overall, this flex pattern is quite similar to the RMU North Shore 114, which is the ski the Apostle 114 replaces and is identical in terms of shape and rocker profile. The difference is that the Apostle 114 is, overall, a bit stiffer than that ski, most notably at the tips and tails. The Apostle 114 still has a pretty accessible, and fairly symmetrical flex pattern, but it’s generally a bit more supportive than its predecessor.

Stay Tuned…

We got some laps on the Apostle 114 at the very end of last season and will be getting back on it as soon as the snow starts falling at the start of the 24/25 season. Keep an eye out for updates, and let us know of any questions you have.
