PLAYFULNESS (Open Ended):
This ski was playful in the way you could change its personality based on how you are skiing. I can go from high speed gs-style carved turns in powder to Sammy Carlson-esque drifts as I shut down the speed before a more technical section.
SKI LENGTH: It felt just right (192 cm length tested)
THIS SKI’S IDEAL TERRAIN: Fairly steep off-piste terrain | Very steep off-piste terrain
THIS SKI’S IDEAL SNOW CONDITIONS: Untracked powder (shallow) | Untracked powder (deep)
WHAT TYPE(S) OF SKIER DO YOU IMAGINE WILL GET ALONG BEST WITH THIS SKI?
I think anyone from a strong intermediate up who enjoys the idea of a playful charging powder ski will get along with this ski. I built it with the same layup as Paul Forwards pair and understand why he uses this ski so much. It’s so intuitive and does just about anything you ask it to. It’s like secret deodorant for a ski (strong enough for a man pH balanced tor a woman). It’s stout enough to rail carved turns in pow and inspire confidence on roughed up run outs but soft and approachable enough to be maneuverable and forgiving of some backseat sins. This is a powder ski and I have yet to ski it in a resort.

Almost all my skis have camber underfoot and I was a little hesitant to the shallow reverse camber but the profile totally works- even in scraped out chutes or skiing the cat roads I was blown away by how well it skied- I’m not saying it rips hard snow but was surprised by how well it behaved and skied under non-intended conditions as this is a pretty specific tool. Occasionally on really deep days I got some tip dive- the sidecut is pretty flat and tips and tails aren’t that fat- at least when compared to my other pow ski (dps alchemist lotus 124) so I would need to dial back how hard I drove through the tips but that’s about the only modification I needed to make to my skiing with these babies.
