WHAT TYPE(S) OF SKIER DO YOU IMAGINE WILL GET ALONG BEST WITH THIS SKI?
Skiers who value chop-busting and good suspension in their powder ski. This thing is a hoss at ~2425 grams in the 189 cm length, but this mass allows the ski to be very composed in chop and crud and also very smooth on rough snow. It’s pretty center-mounted and prefers a more upright stance, though, and can feel cumbersome at slower speeds. But, keep some momentum and its shape and rocker profile make for good maneuverability.
ARE THERE SIMILAR PRODUCTS YOU’VE SKIED THAT YOU CLEARLY PREFER? IF SO, WHY?
This ski feels like the Wildcat and the Blackops 118 had a baby. And it’s a fat baby (the cute kind though). It doesn’t do as well as either of these skis on firm/skied-out snow, but it does float better than both of them in pure powder.
PLEASE ELABORATE ON ANYTHING ELSE YOU’D LIKE TO SAY ABOUT THIS SKI. FEEL FREE TO GO INTO DETAIL!
As I mentioned earlier, this ski is solidly in the playful charger class alongside icons like the Wildcat and Blackops 118. But, it is indeed wider and floats better in pure powder than these skis. It does feel right at home in deep afternoon chop and crud, though I’d be less inclined to take it out the day after a storm, unlike the two skis above.
