Similar to other the Kore skis we’ve flexed, the Kore 99 is very stiff throughout the entire ski.

This is an intriguing ski. However, like many of the Libertys which employ wood and other very light weight materials, I have found these skis to be some squirrelly on uneven terrain compared to a heavier metal laminate ski such as the Volkl line. Am I alone and crazy?
What color is that? Is it a wood veneer or does it come in turd brown?
The top sheet? It is neither, it’s red/dark grey.
This maybe a separate discussion but at some point do we have too many waist variations of the same ski? Like is it really a big deal to either go down to the 93 or up to the 105?
It is definitely impressive how many different waist widths the Head Kore comes in for both the unisex/men’s and women’s lines. “How much of a gap in waist width makes a notable difference” is another can of worms to open, but generally, it’s up to the brand how many different widths they see viable to make, and I don’t see how the consumer having several different waist width options to be a bad thing (unless you struggle with analysis paralysis, I suppose). Specific to the Head Kore line, it is also worth mentioning that the difference between the 99 and 105 is definitely more significant that the difference between the 93 and 99, since the 105, 111, and 117 all have more tapered shapes and deeper rocker lines relative to the <99 models.
I ski western NY and ski west twice a year. I’m a cruiser and ski frontside. Is the best model ski in the Head lineup for me?
There’s a lot about this ski that I think I’d love, including shape, rocker profile and weight.
But SO stiff?!
I usually ski Masters racing skis but have a pair of Nordica Enforcer 100 in 185cm., Nordica Patron 113 in 185cm, and Kore 99 in 177cm. I love carving skis but find the Kore 99 a really fun ski.It is great in chop and loads of fun in 12” powder. On the groomers the 99’s carve reasonably well but are so fast with very little tip flap. These skis are really fun and have become the daily driver for my ski buddy.
