Salomon Announces New 2025-2026 QST Ski Collection

Almost ten years ago, Salomon introduced a new collection of freeride / all-mountain skis, dubbed the QST.

Since then, Salomon has tweaked, added, and subtracted from the series. Today, we get to talk about the latest update to the longstanding lineup.

Earlier this season, we recorded a GEAR:30 podcast with Salomon to dive deep into the nitty gritty details of these 2025-2026 changes, so subscribe to GEAR:30 to catch that tomorrow. We’ll also be rolling out First Looks and Flash Reviews of the skis throughout the rest of the season, but for now, we’ll provide a broad overview.

For starters, the primary line will now consist of the QST 94, QST 100, QST 106, and 112mm-wide S/Lab QST Blank. The QST 94 and QST 100 are brand-new shapes, replacing the prior-gen QST 92 and QST 98, respectively. The 25/26 QST 106 and QST Blank feature similar shapes as their previous iterations but come with several constructional tweaks.

(This announcement doesn’t mention the touring-oriented QST Echo 106 and pow-specific QST X, since both of those skis return for 25/26 without changes to their constructions.)

Salomon is also taking a unisex approach to the new QST collection; the 94, 100, and 106 will all be available in two graphics, but there will no longer be any nominal distinction between the graphics. (Previously, the women’s QST skis were constructionally identical but featured slightly different names.) The S/Lab QST Blank will be offered in a single graphic, and while it’s totally subjective, I think the aesthetic update to the whole collection is a good one.

As for the new skis, the QST 94 is (unsurprisingly) meant to be the most piste-friendly model in the group. However, compared to the prior-gen QST 92, the new QST 94 has notably less tapered tips and tails than its wider siblings. We’d expect it to offer an increase in firm-snow precision and are eager to test that hypothesis.

The QST 100 effectively replaces the previous QST 98 as the “do it all” model in the collection. The two have similar-looking shapes, but the new QST 100 is reportedly designed to be more playful than the outgoing 98.

The QST 106 maintains a similar shape as the prior-gen version. However, the new ski reportedly gets a bit more tail rocker, a slightly stiffer flex pattern, and a new execution of Salomon’s “Cork Damplifier” tip and tail inserts. The “Cork Damplifier 2.0” inserts on the 25/26 skis are still designed to improve vibration damping at the ends of the skis, but version 2.0 features a smaller insert that borders the perimeter of the wood core at the tips and tails (see graphic).

In addition to gaining Salomon’s “S/Lab” designation, the 25/26 QST Blank features similar updates as the QST 106. Compared to the first-gen Blank, the new S/Lab QST Blank is reportedly more rockered, a bit stiffer, and comes with the new cork tip and tail inserts.

All the new QST skis feature poplar wood cores, basalt fibers from tip to tail, and a fiberglass laminate. Salomon doesn’t mention anything about them getting lighter, but according to the stated weights, it looks like most of the new QST skis will be a bit lighter than the prior iterations, especially the Blank.

The QST 100 and S/Lab QST Blank are available for early access at select retailers and on Salomon’s website. Later this year (likely autumn in the northern hemisphere), the full collection will be available.

  1. Holy fuck are those graphics ugly…i mean not everyone likes unholy Schmies Designs but FFS, those skis are super ugly to the extent i wanna just puke on them 24/7…i even get some kind of : i wanna punch you to get outta my view kind of ugly…who the fuck Designer ??? Anybody know that??? Its just ridicolous….if you cant bring something nice pls just paint em all black or all white like candides…those skis look like a fukken rottenTaliban Carpet in some Afghan Shithole

  2. I totally agree. I am a HUGE QST fan (currently have the 98, 106 Echo, and Blank in my quiver) but I’ll be staying with my current setup. Those are the worst looking graphics I’ve seen in a long, long time.

  3. The 94 looks like the biggest upgrade. I’ll hold my breath on the new Blank review. I like the current 194 so much as is. We’ll see. Graphics are a major improvement, but the pixelation is killing me. Maybe it’s less stark when just looking at one pair on your feet.

  4. The cork was very off-putting for me in the old skis, hopefully it’ll be less noticable in the new build. Glad they switched it up! (Also, the graphics do suck, but in a less racist way than whatever that guy was on about)

  5. Other press releases/product specs show the new QST Blank to be less rockered than the original. Can you confirm if they are more (like you said) or less?

  6. Excited that they made the radii longer on the Blank. I found it pretty hooky in wet and heavy snow conditions. But, I wish they had kept heavy-ish weights.

    • It wasnt a racist argument at all, i love people from the far and middle east and my best bud is a syrian refugee, so relax …but the ski still just looks worse than a dusty carpet in a garage or so…just tried to make a point here how bad a designer can be…gotta background in industrial design, and man….in italy you get arrested for designs like that, haha

  7. Could have stuck with “I really don’t like this graphic”.

Anyways, I personally like them from a distance (ex athlete shots), although not sure about the pixelated look. Will have to wait to see them in person

    • Having seen them all on snow (and skied them), I agree with you. And FWIW, in person, the ‘pixelated’ Blank graphic is actually my clear favorite of the collection. Love it. Plus the graphics on the base of the Blanks pop like crazy in person.

  8. Will be interested to see the graphics in person, have certainly seen plenty where the pics look great, and then in person not so much. It maybe me not being very awake but in these pics several of the skis look asymmetrical (blank and first 106 in particular), assume not, as I suspect they and you would have mentioned it!!

Hope to get to try some or all at a test weekend in March. I have the first generation 106 as a touring set up, so am keen to try the new version, but all are interesting

  9. Have to agree with most , they did a TERRIBLE job on graphics . Need to return to some attractive designs of basics. Sorry Salomon.
I too have a few pairs of 2021 thru 2023’s salomons . They look like a LSD trip gone bad .

    • If you care more about how a ski looks than how it performs, something is deeply broken in your brain and you should seek help

  10. As a 5’5” 47yr old male who skis technical terrain at a moderate speed I am stoked they finally made the QST blank in a 170 cm length . Thanks Salomon! Top sheet graphics look kinda cool. All ski bases should be black in my opinion for best waxing results and consistency.

  11. It’s at least a graphic. QSTs from 2019 to 2024 were no graphics at all, not likeable and not relatable. Blank lol.

Btw, I like the graphic and 8-bit art reference. It’s cool

  12. HAHAHA, this is the funniest Blister comments section yet. Seems bold to have messed with the 92 that this site has lauded as the dream skinny off piste tool. That said a more piste specific QST sounds kind of cool.
As for the graphics, fun bold choice by Salomon and their skis will be instantly recognizable on the hill. Personal taste is personal and I am now even happier I got this year’s QST 98 with the ridiculously saturated uniform deep purple topsheet and groovy Austin Powers Lava Lamp base.

  13. I’m agree with Ben to the extent these graphics are fairly offensive to look at. Literally would prefer almost anything a 3rd grader could come up with over these. It actually makes me angry a “professional” could think of something so objectively ugly. C’mon Salomon!
