At first glance, Stio’s Basis Power Dry Shirt looks like just another flannel. But it actually uses Polartec’s Power Dry Knit material, which means it wicks sweat and keeps you warm and dry. And while this shirt works great on cooler spring and summer nights, we also used it this past winter as a mid-layer both for shorter ski tours and inbounds skiing — in part because it transitions well to classier apres venues. We’ve been impressed with how quickly it dries and how well it resists funk.
At 6’0″, 180 lbs., I’d say that Stio’s fit is right on the money, though the fit errs on the side of running long rather than short. We like that, since it’s long enough that it doesn’t ride up in the back or at the sleeves (when touring or riding bikes), but it’s still not overly baggy. I’d recommend sticking with your normal shirt size, but if you dislike longer, looser fits and are on the fence between sizes it is probably safe to drop down. (E.g, Our editor-in-chief, at 5’10”, ~175 lbs, thinks he could get away with a size Medium.)
As summer warm up the Basis Power Dry Shirt is perfectly suited to cooler nights around the campfire, and any trip where you need to stay smelling fresh and warm while maintaining a bit of class.
