We wrote about the NTS Micro 150 Henley in our Winter Buyer’s Guide, but it deserves to be brought up again. This is the lightest layer in Smartwool’s lineup, and it looks great, is thin (so takes up little space in your backpack or luggage), and is slow to stink, so it can be worn multiple days in a row, enabling you to pack fewer shirts.
And beyond all that, it looks sharp. So if you’re heading out on a date, or to a casual business meeting, or out to a movie, or a 2-3 hour bike ride in hot weather, or a warm-weather or high-output ski tour … well, I’ve worn this shirt on all of the above occasions.
Note: some of the model images for this shirt make it seem like it’s a super tight, body-hugging fit. It isn’t. At 5’10”, ~175 lbs., the size Large is perfect. The stomach / torso area I would describe as having a “regular” fit, and on me, the chest / shoulders err a bit more on the close fitting side than the loose side.
