Background:

I grew up exploring the Wasatch, Tetons, Wind Rivers, and Utah canyon country, and picked up snowboarding at 11 after the 2002 Salt Lake Olympics. I competed in boardercross and slopestyle for my teenage years and came back to big-mountain riding after a decade of juxtaposed park rails and start gates. I then started reviewing snowboarding gear for Blister in 2012. I spend my free days at my home mountain of Snowbird, where I’ve been riding for almost 20 years now, or exploring the Cottonwoods’ backcountry. I love surf-style slashing, skate-influenced side hits, and overall prefer clean and smooth riding. In the summer, I can be found ambling around my favorite mountains, failing to catch picky trout, or getting lost in the desert.
