[Editor’s Note: If we hadn’t been busy skiing pow at Taos the past several days, we would have gotten this post up sooner. We apologize. Nevertheless, this is another really nice recap from Garrett Altmann about this last stop on the FWT, where Blister reviewers Garrett Altmann and Colin Boyd both punched their ticket to the next FWT stop in AK.]
Hello! Here’s a quick update from Europe:
A few days ago the Freeride World Tour Fieberbrunn event that was supposed to be in Austria was restaged in Andorra. After dropping my plan to do a high risk line and deciding to ski a fun run instead, I finished 5th, and much to my surprise, I accomplished my goal for the season – making the top 16 overall and qualifying me for the final event in Alaska!
Based on that result, I was also able to qualify for the FWT next year, although I’m really just focusing on Alaska at the moment. I’m proud that I played it safe and that it payed off. Stoked.
In other big news, my girlfriend Sarah and I got engaged here a few days ago—on my birthday, nonetheless. Needless to say, we thoroughly enjoyed Andorra.
Life is good right now and I’m happy to be sending such a positive update.
And to top it all off, it was super cool to see Blister’s Colin Boyd have a phenomenal run and take 2nd at the comp!
Congrats on the tour results and more importantly, your engagement. Lots of good skiing going on this winter on the tour. Stoked for you.
Tom
congratulations Garrett on all fronts!
