After our first trip to Mt Bachelor last April, we knew we had to come back. Bachelor is one of the most playful ski areas we’d ever been to, and we wanted more.
But what we’ve learned this week is that when you take a feature-filled mountain and dump more than 5 feet of snow on it in the last 7 days … things get ridiculously fun. It’s pretty much been Ground Hog’s Day out here: every day we wake up at Wallstreet Suites, look outside, and see more snow. Then we head up to Bachelor, and the snow is deeper than it was the day before. Everything right now is soft, so it’s cushy landings everywhere. This is Blister reviewer David Steele’s first time here, and he described it as “an adult-sized bounce house.” Yep.
In addition to the massive amounts of snow out here, the other big news at Bachelor is that, tomorrow, the new Cloudchaser lift opens. The high-speed detachable quad chairlift adds 635 acres to Bachelor’s lift-served terrain, bringing Bachelor’s total to 4,318 acres. In other words, this big playground just got bigger.
We’re looking forward to exploring that new zone tomorrow. But today, we’re back skiing long jibby laps and enjoying fantastic tree skiing in deep snow. Check out the gallery to get a bit of a taste, then come check this place out for yourself.

Looks like David Steele is on the Kartel 108. Did they ever stiffen the tips & tails from the ones you reviewed in Spring?
You guys sure did pick a good time to visit Oregon. The snow gods have been good. Enjoy.
