Line has replaced the Mr. Pollard’s Opus with a new 114mm-underfoot ski, the Mordecai, which sits in between the new, redesigned Sir Francis Bacon and the Magnum Opus in Eric Pollard’s line of pro model skis.
Line Skis’ Designer, Jed Yeiser, has said that Pollard wanted the Mordecai to handle much like the old Mr. Pollards Opus, but be even quicker and more nimble.
Like the redesigned Bacon, the Mordecai is stiffer than the Mr. Pollard’s Opus, has a slightly tighter sidecut radius, and borrows the same new, light, laminated balsa & flax core construction from the Magnum Opus.
As with the Bacon, we’re curious to find out how the Mordecai compares to the now-retired Mr. Pollard’s Opus in terms playfulness and all-mountain versatility.

WAIT, I thought the opus was the best ski Eric ever designed, boy he changes his mind more then a 12yr. old girl on boyhood crushes, but I think the EP pro will still be his funnest ski ever.
Any ideas on weight? How much camber? Might be a contender with the 3.0 for a playful light touring rig.
As per Line catalogue: 3740 g per pair, 5 mm camber.
Same suggested mount point as the MPO? Does the tail appear to have a little less rise & splay than the shovel, or are they still about equal (as with the MPO)?
Eric designed best skis, but with magnum opus coming only at 186 just for the likes of eric, i am switching to Moment Governor all mountain ski just like Mordecai. Just hoping to find a nice price at 196cm. Line customer for pas 6 years and switching… i skied Opus, The 130, bacon, sickday 125….. bye bye Line for now. Moment treat me well. Cheers.
