What DPS says about the Carbon Wailer 90
“The all-new Carbon Wailer 90 excels across varied snow conditions. Its narrower profile is optimized with a short (15m) turn radius, paired with generous tip and tail rocker, enabling swift edge-to-edge transitions and confident maneuverability through trees and narrow chutes. Transitioning from light powder to hardpack, it offers the agility and cornering prowess reminiscent of a race car, ensuring versatility across all terrain types. The new Carbon Wailer line is our homage to the skiers who have shaped DPS as a brand. These skis exist to make skiing a simpler and more enjoyable pursuit, with a focus on nimble wiggles through the trees, and planing through the deepest snow. They share a common shaping identity; a 15m turning radius for great maneuverability and carving energetic turns, tapered shovels for optimal flotation in powder, and a combo of rocker and camber that is versatile in all snow conditions.” “Our Carbon Wailer skis feature a Hybrid laminate in place of the full Carbon laminate in the Kaizen skis. The hybrid laminate offers a balance of carbon response and a more damp, classic feel to your turns. Built in the USA with a poplar wood core, these skis feature our new Entropy Super Sap resin, made from bio-based epoxy. This new resin helps to reduce the impact of resins on the environment without compromising performance.”

Flex Pattern
Here’s how we’d characterize the flex pattern of the Carbon Wailer 90:
Tips: 7-7.5
Shovels: 7.5-8
In Front of Toe Piece: 8.5-10
Underfoot: 10
Behind the Heel Piece: 10-9.5
Tails: 9
This ski is quite stiff overall, especially through the middle and back half. However, its tips and shovels are softer than several of the past-generation Wailers we’ve tested, such as the Alchemist Wailer 106.
