What ON3P says about the Billy Goat 118
“The Billy Goat 118 always finds its way. For 2025, we've extended our trademark RES into the tips for a less boxy, more drivable sidecut, capable of adjusting on-the-fly to pilot feedback. We also cinched some tail length, which allows for better mount proportions to drive into the forefoot, and improve responsiveness. We kept the flatter tail of its predecessor for strong tail support, and both lowered the camber and pushed its apex forward for a more predictable ride in the face of unpredictable terrain – the Billy Goat blurs the limits of line choice as far as you're willing to go.
As part of our three-ski freeride series, the Billy Goat shape has the ability to both drive and smear without tip-dive or dumping speed – if finding the fastest way down on a powder day is your goal, then the BG is your ski. Featuring our custom 2800 hybrid fiberglass/carbon composite, our 100% bamboo cores, full length UHMW sidewalls, and the thickest bases & edges money can buy, the Billy Goat is a durable and versatile platform for strong skiers who value speed and stability in all soft snow pursuits.”— ON3P Skis

Flex Pattern
Here’s how we’d characterize the flex pattern of the Billy Goat 118:
Tips: 8
Shovels: 8-9
In Front of Toe Piece: 9-10
Underfoot: 10
Behind the Heel Piece: 10-9
Tails: 8.5-7.5
Stoked to see you guys review the new BG. I am a huge fan of the asym version of PNW snow.
I’m psyched that after multiple years, you finally got a test pair of ON3P skis again. And this is one of their skis that I am actually looking at for personal use. Can’t wait to read your impressions. Couple things: You listed the factory recc mount point as -9.8cm, but ON3P’s site says -10.25. Also the flex profile sounds fairly stout especially for a powder ski! Curious to learn more.
For the pair we received, we measured – and then remeasured – the recommended mount point to be at -9.8 cm. And like you, we noticed that is a bit off from what ON3P’s website displays. We are mounting a demo alpine binding on this ski, so we will be able to test it at multiple mount positions and let you know what we think.
And yes, this powder ski has some stiffness to it. ON3P has been building many versions of the Billy Goat for many years, and they’ve demonstrated plenty of times that they are capable of designing shapes that can make even stout flex patterns work well in powder. Soon, we’ll get a chance to see how this latest version performs.
Thanks for the follow up Mark! Good to know!
What are the odds this ends up dethroning the GOAT of playful charger pow skis, the Moment Wildcat 190cm?? Looks like a fun ski either way!
Excited to see ON3P skis back finally in Blister and especially the BG, now if you can just get the latest iterations of the Woodsman series that will be amazing too. Great news
Turns out Blister also has the current Woodsman 108 for testing! I had missed that post last week.
Thanks Brice, missed that too, can only assume it‘s been so long since an ON3P was reviewed that I was just blind to it! Excited to see that too
Reckon Luke is slipping these in retrospectively as i now see the Jeffery and Mango are there too ;o)
Yep, we’ve got the following skis in for testing and will be getting First Looks and Flash Reviews posted for all of them ASAP:
Woodsman 100, Woodsman 108, Woodsman 108 Tour, Mango 100, Jeffrey 108, Billy Goat 118, Billy Goat 118 Tour
Wow, quite the lineup and great news
I’d like to hear how this compares to another iconic West Coast pow ski, the Praxis GPO..
I have this ski in this length and have taken it out at Alta, where snow has been slow to come until recently, a few times this year. I found it very intuitive, not burly at all, but relatively damp and stable, loose as you need, and very good for width getting back to lift – feels like a ski still not just powder ski. I had a Rossi Black opps for a long time but it was always short, and the 186 BG is a couple of CM longer and mounted much further back. For context, my other skis are a 183 Bonafide, 186 On3P Wrenegade Pro 110 (measured mt. pt 12.2 back btw) and a 100 woodsman with ripper profile that I use with Duke PTs for BC days where I’ll ski the resort right after laps.
