[Editor’s Note: Our “First Looks” are our way of getting you information sooner on some of the products we’re reviewing, including our measured specs and the details from the manufacturer. Once we’ve started testing a given product, we detail our on-snow impressions in our Flash Reviews and our annual Winter Buyer’s Guide. When we’re able to spend extensive time testing a given product, we publish our in-depth Full Reviews and Deep Dive comparisons.]

What J Skis says about the Flight:

“The Flight’s 95mm width, with deep sidecut and a snappy flex gives you lightning-fast reflexes. You’ll have awesome grip on firm snow, and easily lay trenches on buttery groomers as if your skis are reading your mind! The Aspen core and carbon fiber stringers make these skis feel weightless on your feet so you can pivot on a dime, maneuvering through tight trees and variable terrain with far less effort. After lunch your legs will be begging you to keep going til last chair! The subtle rocker floats through fresh snow and slush, so you're always ready to explore. When adventure calls, use the tail notch for reliable skin clip retention that pairs perfectly with our pre-cut skins, enabling you to go touring straight out of the box. Jump on the Flight and conquer everything from first chair to last call après - your skiing is about to take off!”

Flex Pattern

Here’s how we’d characterize the flex pattern of the Flight:

Tips: 5.5-6
Shovels: 6-7.5
In Front of Toe Piece: 8-9.5
Underfoot: 10
Behind the Heel Piece: 9.5-8.5
Tails: 8-7.5

This flex pattern is very similar to the wider J Skis Escalator, but the Flight’s tail is a bit stiffer.
