Intro
Since 1948, Sturtevants has served Sun Valley and the surrounding area. With four locations in the Wood River Valley, including one shop on Main Street, one at the Limelight Hotel, and one in the Warm Springs Village (100 yards from the lift) in Ketchum, and one on Main Street in Hailey, Sturtevants is ideally located to support skiers, cyclists, and adventurers.
Sturtevants offers alpine and backcountry ski equipment, apparel, accessories, rentals, demos, seasonal leases, and a full range of technical services, including world-class boot fitting and ski tuning.
The staff at Sturtevants include skiers, cyclists, and all-around mountain people, which in turn makes them a great resource for customers and the area in general. Sturtevants is also more than just a shop. If you’re ever in the area, you will see their name pop up quite often as they sponsor a number of local events. Sturtevants has a history of giving back to the community from helping to restore iconic cabins in the backcountry to supporting local ski teams and the local rope tow. And that is one of the many reasons that we recommend them.

Sturtevants carries 50+ brands that make ski or ski-related products, and with that many brands to choose from, you’re likely to find what you’re looking for. While Sturtevants has an impressive number of ski-related brands, the bike side of the shop isn’t much different. With over 30+ bike-related bike brands it’s a good idea to stop by their shops if you’re in need of anything while in the area. Brands carried include Santa Cruz, Giant Bicycles, Liv, Transition, Haibike, Benno, Smith, Fox Clothing, Burley, Bell, Giro, Endura, Camelbak, Shredly, SheBeest, FiveTen, Wild Rye, and many more. Services
Sturtevants offers a whole menu of bike- and ski-related services. In the winter, the ski shop offers a variety of tunes from recreational to race level and they specialize in custom boot fitting services. With a number of experienced bootfitters on staff, Sturtevants will help you dial in your fit.
Their bike shop services are frequently voted “Best in the Valley.” In addition, Sturtevants offers bike rentals / demos at three different levels, for everything from cruising downtown Ketchum to exploring the many trails around the area.
Beyond bike and ski services, Sturtevants also offers guide services through their partnership with Sun Valley Mountain Guides. Based out of Sturtevants, Sun Valley Guides offer guided mountain biking and hiking as well as shuttle service to and from trailheads. From day rides exploring the local trails to epic adventures in the backcountry and skill-building sessions, Sun Valley Guides has something to offer for just about everyone.
Ski Demos
Sturtevants has an alpine and backcountry ski demo program from basic ski and snowboard packages that are geared towards beginners, to premium demos from all the top brands and junior race skis and boots. They also offer season lease packages, which are popular with families. The lease program is available for kids and adults and there is even a nordic lease program (at the Hailey store only).
