‘Inner Boots’ vs. Liners in Ski Boots | ZipFit 2025 Lineup Video

Several of our reviewers have used a single pair of ZipFit “inner boots” for hundreds of days, as have many pro and everyday skiers around the world. But … why?

In this video from Blister Summit 2024, we dive into how ZipFit goes about making boot liners that have to work for any skier in any ski boot; how their lineup has evolved; what makes their liners so durable and customizable; the role of ZipFit’s founder, Sven Coomer; and more.

  1. Excited to hear someone bringing custom cork liners back to the market! When might they be available or found in shops to be fitted?

    • To be clear, ZipFit liners aren’t new. They are currently available and quite a few of our Blister Recommended Shops stock and sell them!

  2. Well shoot, I botched that comment. Meant to reference the cork footbeds from 17:30 in the video. Love my zip fit liners and would love to see what these footbeds are all about!

  3. Clearly knowledgeable/experienced people in this vid. Good to put foreword the virtues of cork. However, IMO, too much dialogue about brand evolution and not enough design specifics and or boot fitting strategies. The brief visual evaluation of the used liner was great. Since every foot is unique, a meaningful assessment is an in-person process, and the demo process is an excellent option heretofore not available in ski boots.

  4. SVEN Coomer is a Legend. Riding my 3rd pair of Zipfits. Current pair Corsa in my Head Raptors WCR..these liners have the ultra performance fit but comfy enough to be in them from dawn til dusk. It’s the fit that is outstanding. The cork is semi movable and micro adjustable. I bought my own plunger and spare tubes to fine tune the fit over the first few days of the season. Ended actually over doing onesie and was easily able to use an empty tube to recover about 1/2inch of cork from the liner.

    • Sven is the man. Was laminating plastic to leather before Bob what’s his name started pouring hot liquid plastic into molds. Nordica was an Italian industrial conglomerate at the time and approached Sven with some new tech – an injection molding machine. Designed the Nordica World Cup/Yellow Banana boot. And the original Raichle Flexon. And the Atomic Hawk’s with the cut outs in the shell. And.. yeah a true legend. I had way too much cork/clay matrix in mine at first. Took some out and love them. If you find yourself at the Summit and want to have your Zipfits worked on Real Balance/Rob in Gunny knows how to fit the Zip better than most. Shop had very little decoration last time I was there. Except for the old poster of Sven wearing a red sweater skiing.
