It’s been great to be back to Las Leñas, for so many reasons. Catching up with friends from last year, meeting new friends this year, and getting to spend time again in these outrageous mountains.
Plus, the torta chocolate at the Innsbruck is still one of the best things I’ve ever tasted. (Cf. last year’s Trip Report.)
This has been a mild winter across much of South America, but we continue to find and ski untracked snow every day. This place is enormous; all you need is to know where to look and the desire to go get it.
So if you put your trip to Las Leñas on hold this season, don’t make the same mistake again next year.
And now, on to the pics…

Great website and informative reviews. I didn’t find mountains and snowboarding until I was 30. 16 years later I’m just as obsessed as ever. I would have thought the raging maniac screaming about the mountains in my grey matter would have mellowed over the years, but he keeps getting louder and more persistent. I found skiing this year and the obsession is better than ever. I stumbled on to your website while researching for the purchase of my first pair of skis. I am headed to Alta next week before it closes and realized I can’t wait till the next North American winter to go skiing again. I’m looking into making the trip to Las Lenas. Any advice on lodging.
