What we said about the Maverick 88 Ti in our 21/22 Winter Buyer’s Guide

“New for 21/22, the Maverick 88 Ti replaces the old Atomic Vantage 90 Ti, and we think the vast majority of people will prefer this new ski. Like it’s predecessor, the Maverick 88 Ti is still a pretty light ski — but it’s also a far more approachable and intuitive one. All of the new Maverick skis make it pretty easy to initiate carved turns, hold an very edge well, and are quite energetic coming out of turns. The Maverick 88 Ti is not as easy to pivot nor as forgiving as the Salomon Stance 90 or Folsom Spar 88, but the Maverick does carve better than them. So if you spend most of your time on carved runs but like a lighter ski for the occasional times you dip into the bumps, the Maverick 88 Ti should be on your list. For a similar feel with better all mountain performance, check out the Maverick 95 Ti in our More Stable all-mountain section.”

Flex Pattern

Here’s how we’d characterize the flex pattern of the Maverick 88 Ti:

Tips: 5.5-6
Shovels: 6.5-7.5
In Front of Toe Piece: 8-10
Underfoot: 10
Behind the Heel Piece: 9.5-8
Tails: 7.5
