How HOJI Designs His Skis + New 4FRNT Nevar | Blister Summit Video

Eric ‘Hoji’ Hjorleifson is not only legendary for his unique style of big-mountain skiing, but also for his constant focus on making gear better.

One result of this has been his longstanding line of skis with 4FRNT, and at Blister Summit 2024, we sat down with Hoji to get his take on how and why he designs skis the way he does.

We also cover a prototype Hoji was testing at the Summit, which turned out to be 4FRNT’s new Nevar ski; how the Nevar, Raven, Hoji, and Renegade compare; Hoji’s 4-Lock skin system, and more.

  1. I’m very interested in this ski. Specifically wondering if it would work well as a 50/50 ski. It looks like a slightly heavier cambered Raven, which makes me think this ski could be a lot of fun arcing big turns on firmer snow in bounds. Perhaps a good ski for skinning up the resort in the morning and then skiing all day in bounds…..and also a general touring ski. Is there a flash review in the works for this one?
