The Inn at Steamboat makes our Recommended Lodges list because it’s more than just a place to stay; it’s a place that can provide an experience that’s tailored to your particular interests while also serving as the perfect launching point for any sort of outdoor activity in and around Steamboat Springs, Colorado.

The Inn at Steamboat is owned and operated by Todd and Tiffany Moore, long-time residents of Steamboat Springs, and who both come from families in the hospitality industry.

After purchasing The Inn at Steamboat in 2012, the couple set out to differentiate their hotel through high-quality service and a personalized experience.

The Inn at Steamboat was remodeled soon before the Moores purchased it, but they have taken many additional steps to integrate energy efficient systems, and eco-friendly practices. The Inn has a new, highly efficient heating system that works in conjunction with solar panels to provide for more than half of their hot water needs. They also installed UV-ray blocking film on windows to help keep indoor temperatures down on warm summer days, and use micro-fleece linens that take half the time to dry, among other measures.

The Inn at Steamboat includes modern conveniences and comforts in a cozy and relaxing environment. And virtually every guest agrees that the Moores, as well as the rest of the staff, offer fantastic service and are always available to help with any sort of request.

While Todd and Tiffany bring decades of experience working in hospitality to their management of The Inn at Steamboat, they are also passionate outdoor enthusiasts with an incredible amount of local knowledge. And in a place like Steamboat with so much to do and such a rich outdoor history (Steamboat was the epicenter of some of the earliest downhill skiing in Colorado, and has hosted popular winter carnivals every season since 1914), it’s extremely valuable to have experienced innkeepers to share the best spots for skiing, biking, hiking, or fishing. Not only that, but they are also more than happy to point you in the direction of a great restaurant or other activities around town.

Location

The Inn at Steamboat is in a great spot on a quiet residential street, just four blocks from the mountain, and a short drive into town. The staff runs a shuttle service around the clock to take guests to the mountain or to town, so a car is not necessary to get to the lifts or into town for dinner.

The Inn has ski and bike storage to make it easier for guests traveling with equipment, and free guest parking is available, too. Guests can also enjoy the main living room, which has plenty of comfortable seating, and a great fireplace to read or relax by after skiing.

The Inn’s 34 rooms are simple, nicely decorated, very clean, and have incredibly comfortable beds. Guests have the choice of a room with either a king bed; two queens; a suite with a bedroom and living room with a pullout couch; or a larger family suite with two bedrooms. Some rooms also have beautiful views of the Yampa Valley, and are definitely worth asking about.

Other Amenities

One of the best parts of The Inn at Steamboat, though, is the outdoor heated pool (summer and winter), which has great views and is wonderful to soak in after a day of skiing or biking. The Inn also has a hot tub, sauna, and exercise facilities. With the recent addition of on-site massage therapy too, there are plenty of ways to relax at The Inn at Steamboat.

The Inn at Steamboat also serves a healthy breakfast in the morning to prepare you for a big day on the slopes or the trails. There’s usually a delicious hot dish, as well as yogurt, cereal, and a gluten-free option, too.

Bottom Line

If you’re visiting Steamboat by yourself, with a partner, with friends, or your family, The Inn at Steamboat offers outstanding service at a reasonable price.

Todd, Tiffany, and the rest of the staff are friendly, helpful, and will make you feel right at home. The Inn at Steamboat is run by great people who love the outdoors, and will help you figure out how to best take advantage of all Steamboat Springs and the surrounding areas have to offer.

    • Hi Tom!

The Inn has a bench for waxing and tuning, but you’d need to bring vices and tools. Hope that helps!

      Thanks for reading!
