Looking forward to this one. Just watched the Mountain of Angels series by Mammut. 5 short films (4-8 mins) each telling a different story of people living and skiing in Engelberg. Very much enjoyed them all
+1 just watched the mammut series and they were great
Circle of Madness was my film of the year. I think I’ve watched it a dozen times now and it’s just always entertaining. I’d be curious to hear your guys thoughts on “Of A Lifetime”, another North Face film, that follows the De La Rue family on a trip sailing to Antartica and skiing objectives there. Pretty crazy stuff and I’d love to hear their risk tolerances and plans discussed because they are on a whole ‘nother planet.
Blue Hour had me emotional and tearing up!
Lot’s of Life Lessons in that ~5 minute clip.
Well done by Amie and Atomic.
Circle of Madness has such an Apex level of skiing and filming, definatley top shelf. Several “Holy Shit” and OMG comments were made. The movie was good because of documentation on the amount of down days it takes, to get a few top level Blue Bird Ski Porn laps done. But it is such a totally unrecognizable level of skiing and snowboarding, that it actually got boring to me by the end. But the dialogue where they discuss “why” they keep coming back for more is definately relatable to all skiers. Perhaps this is a just metaphor for all things in life: danger and fun are just a sliding scale of the risk you are willing to take.
