Today, I am talking with our great friend and longtime Blister reviewer, Paul Forward, about a beautiful new series of three short films about Paul, called The Hard Way. It is presented by Sitka Films, and it delves into Paul’s lifelong passion for traditional bow hunting, and the ethics that guide Paul’s practice.
Paul and I have talked about some of these topics on various Blister podcasts, and below we’ve linked to those conversations. But today, Paul and I go behind the scenes of the making of these films, and we flesh out some of the topics related to The Hard Way.

About half way through this and really enjoying it
My hot take from the opening though is that Blister is ripe for a reality TV show, or maybe a more Office style show?
On reflection overnight I have seen the flaw in my suggestion, getting funding would be tough given only 100 people would watch
One last thought, now watched all 3 episodes and finished listening to the pod. Really found this to be excellent. Very interesting to hear Paul’s perspective on this style of hunting and how much it clearly means to him. Never watched anything quite like it.
Seeing the shots with his out of focus skis in the background also makes me wish for a Gear30 on Paul’s quiver and more broadly on the gear he uses for skiing. Would need to be a video episode.
