  1. Passport info: You would have shown your passport at the first place that you entered – the Schengen Area (Europe and Switzerland), which for you was Frankfurt, Germany. When you arrived in Geneva you would not have needed to go through any control, simply go straight to baggage and meet Mikala Shiffrin’s mate.

Please can you share all the other coffee recommendations for Annecy? Mine were Drip and Adrenaline Coffee Roasters. I will have to give Haven a second chance if Scott Rao recommends it. The torrefacteur they work with has been slightly underwhelming in my limited personal experience. From one of the 8, Oli,
    Cheers for now!

  2. Funny, this article by Matt Burgess shows up today in Wired: “The Passport is Dying: Smartphones and face recognition are being combined to create new digital travel documents. The paper passport’s days are numbered—despite new privacy risks”

  3. Am guessing the challenges with pure digital passports may be tied up with the fears that e banking is less than perfect and open to fraud. Not to say passports are not also, but far less common (I imagine)

To add to Oli‘s comment above, many EU citizens can travel around much of Europe with just an identity card and not a passport

Passport shenanigans aside, sounds like a great trip and good that you got to go to Bern and see Lukas and Moira, silver linings and all that. Also glad that the pizza review was positive!

Appreciate your dedication to pronouncing places the way the locals do – just need to work on Arolla, Geneve and St Moritz now
