  1. @ Young Cody:
I had a similar arc in highschool, but in volleyball. In 11th grade, my team made it to 4th in the region, missing out on provincials and our chance at nationals by 1 spot.
In 12th grade, most of that team graduated, but was still playing club. I had the chance to either dedicate my time and join them on their club team, or dedicate that time to bringing up a new school team.

While we placed worse (7th in district), I learned far more than I think I would have on the club team. So many skills for mentoring as well as taking advice from people younger than me… I learned so many soft skills.

Ultimately, when I got my first job, these skills became way more useful than a volleyball medal ever would have been. It was a fantastic year and I would not have had it any other way.

I still played weekend leagues with that o.g. team, and we remained friends, but I am glad I dedicated time to new people.

  2. Guys I live in Bozeman the tax they proposed was very poorly conceived. It would hurt locals as they would be subject to the taxes and there was little definition on what would be taxed and how the money would be used. They have a history of this like adding a referendum for money for affordable housing but no plan on how tonuse that money.
Groups are also pushing for eliminating or limiting short term rentals and addressing second homes but the council wants to discuss it with more imput over the next few years.
This is the same group who keeps approving development and demands lawns and sprinkler systems in a water strained area. They also put in place watering restrictions that don’t apply to commercial businesses or city property who continue to water every day.
They are a mess and people keep electing the same people and expect changes …
But I still love it here despite the mis management
