Don’t get mad at me Internet. Good episode you guys. I’m excited to see a full review and some comparisons on the Countach 98, and the updated Moment skis.

  1. 1.No Space Shit on the Bibby (get Schmies if in doubt)
    2. NO Hipster Names like Wildcat
    3. Wider Skis again, because Skis under 118 are for Posers.
    4. Wider, less cambered but heavier and softer and straighter Bibby (maybe like the Garfield!!!)
    5. Lower Cost now the press is that more dialed, so lower prices (cause a fukken grand for a pair of freeride skis is for posers, really!)

Do all those crucial changes and i wont ever think again Luke is a shit person.

  2. Great show guys.

Loved the “You really should” / “why cant you just”, section. Kimberly and I always joke about these statements in our relationship. This also a weekness in my business game, I really wish /want to be better at asking the have you thought about question.

Women’s Skis, we just purchased Kimberly a pair off the 166 ‘Hot Mess’ skis. And for a ski that had been around for that long it was surprisingly difficult to find reviews it . I have to think this is 100% and difference between men and women equipement / reviews / internet.

Lots more I could tick off, but I will go post them on an internet forum from my Mom’s basement.

I am looking forward to seeing you both again this season…

  3. Cat scratch

Interested to get more info/review of wildcat improvements. In Maine on a powder day I a/b/c tested 3 skis, 2014 Bibby, 2023 Rossi BO, 2021 Faction CT 3.0. In powder all 3 were fun with some subtle differences agreeing with Blister reviews. On hardpack getting back to the lift, the Bibby was clearly a class below the other two. It’s lack of tip engagement was very noticable. I have detuned the tip back to the contact point to get rid of the hookyness. If you can leave the tip sharp all the way now and not be hooky, it would join the other two skis as being at least decent carvers for the width. The slightly narrower CT 3.0 (112mm) carves the best on groomers and floats the least as expected.

  4. btw….thinkin’ bout checkin out the 2026 summit and I own Belafonte triple camber 186’s …if I should bring it with me, hit me up…have to fly in there from Munich but will do just for spreading the word and allround ski nerdery…

      • During the podcast you and Luke seemed most excited about the 190cm length skis. At 5’9 when I look at Moment’s suggested ski length it recommends the 179. In fairness it also recommends the 184 if you identify as advanced charger. I wonder if the 190 might actually be the correct length.

As a long time listener/ reader I am clear on your preference for heavier skis. What I am less clear on is what your thoughts are around ski length selection. Given you have a relatively unlimited quiver, which factors go into selecting ski length?

I bought my first pair of touring skis a few years ago. I downsized from my resort daily drivers. In retrospect this was a mistake, I have bought a new longer set.

Is it true that long skis truck and short skis suck?

        What say you?

      • Sounds like an appropriate name for a ski forum. I wonder what role forums have played with such brands as ON3P, Heritage labs and Moment.

It is amazing to get gear insights from onenerdykid and Tom Pietrowski.

I think a Blister forum would be cool.

  5. I just thought it was funny listening to this podcast and knowing that the two most toxic, disrespectful people on the ski-related subreddits are active specifically in the Moment subreddit. One of them is just the most obnoxious person who I think I saw Luke Jacobson tell that he needs to STFU like 3 days ago. The other is like a superfan who the MomentSkis Reddit account often goes back and forth with in a more positive way and who has claimed to “work with Moment” on all sorts of stuff but who otherwise just treats everybody like they’re idiots for not knowing literally everything about skis.

Obviously not Moment’s responsibility to moderate the shitty behavior of these dudes, but when Juke Jacobson was talking about Forum Guys™ I can’t help but assume that he was thinking specifically of the worst Forum Guys™ on the skiing Reddits who I’ve seen directly interact with Moment. I had such a specific caricature of the type of person he was referencing.

    • Exactly. I laughed because I happened to see the Reddit thread where the guy blasts Moment’s new women’s models, then tells Luke he’d love to sit down with him and show him what type of skis Moment should design. Classic.

  6. Cat scratch, of course. Love the episodes that flow into all sorts of unexpected stuff!

I never for one minute thought of the Comi as communist, as I thought that was Commie, obviously too literal and linear in my thinking.

Jonathan, thank you for raising the Belafonte reserve idea, in a 182 I am all in.

Hope you can get on the Meridian 117 (and back on the 107) as I don‘t think there was ever a review of the original. Love my 107’s and the 117 sounds right up your street in terms of weight and hopefully suspension. Actually surprised that was brought back as, if memory serves, it was not around that long in its original form, but am not objecting.

The real question is when is day 1 on a snowboard?? And where are we on the next threshold? Was it monoskiing, I forget?
