2024 Ortovox Ski & Snowboard Gear | Blister Summit Brand Lineup Video

At Blister Summit 2023, we sat down with Ortovox’s Alexander Cernichiari to discuss the brand’s path from making avalanche transceivers to just about everything you’d wear / use in the backcountry. We cover their 2024 apparel collection; how and why they use merino wool; their wide-ranging outerwear lineup, and more.

  1. I have outwear from Ortovox, Stio, and Trew. All use Toray Dermizax. And that is not by accident, I find it far superior to any Gore or other products. It breathes, I run hot. It is not a membrane, they use a coating that “ladders” the moisture out, I need that info again… The Stio is burly, like armor. Average good fit. The Trew is super light weight and more stretchy. And kind of baggy, almost snow boardy. And the Ortovox is the middle bear. Just right. Fit is very Euro, slim but that works for me. I think I read Toray has reformulated the product recently.. I also have some Ortovox soft shell stuff, it is also wonderful. Sizing varies, some stuff I’m medium, some large. Backcountry has somewhat? reasonable prices for last season stuff if you buy in the summer. I try to buy all my stuff off season, in color ways that maybe aren’t the most popular, I may have even made a purchase from Europe for an even better price.
