What Volkl says about the Secret 96

“You embrace everything the mountain has to offer, so you need skis that can do it all at an expert level. Bring it on with the Volkl Women’s Secret 96 Skis, all-around freeride performers with explosive power and dynamic flexibility to take on everything you love about the snow. With the sweeping handling potential offered by the versatile design of the 4 Radius Drive, you can perform as confidently in the powder as the hardpack, especially with the streamlined feel of the tip and tail rocker profile for pop, forgiveness, and immediate turn initiation. The multilayer woodcore brings lightweight flexibility and power to every snow surface, and with Tailored Carbon Tips and a Tailored Titanal Frame optimizing responsiveness and control across the mountain, you can claim all the best territory as your own. A full sidewall and sintered P-Tex 2100 base boost the skis’ durability, speed, and power transmission, making them the ideal handle-anything kit for resort runs, the rugged backcountry, and beyond.”

Flex Pattern

Here’s how we’d characterize the flex pattern of the Secret 96:

Tips: 8.5
Shovels: 8.5
In Front of Toe Piece: 8.5-9.5
Underfoot: 10
Behind the Heel Piece: 9-9.5
Tails: 8.5-8

Compared to the previous Secret 96, the v2 (24/25) Secret 96 has a very similar overall flex pattern. Both skis are quite strong from tip to tail. The main discernible difference between the new and old skis is that the v2 Secret 96 is a touch softer between the shovels and the front of the bindings.

Stay Tuned…

As discussed in our Flash Review (linked below), we’ve already done some considerable A/B testing of the new and old Secret 96, and we look forward to spending even more time on the 24/25 Secret 96 next season.

We also filmed an upcoming video with Volkl where we discuss the new Secret 96, revised Mantra collection, and several of their other new 24/25 skis. That will be dropping on our YouTube channel, so subscribe if you haven’t already to get all the details as soon as it drops.
