  1. Stoked about Blister Cinematic! Can you please consider giving The Hundred the films that will be discussed in advance of the podcast? It would be great to watch them before the discussions. Like book club for ski/outdoor movie nerds.

  2. For the shirts:
“I have listened to a very specific podcast, ask me about it and become listener 101”
but in really small text so people have to lean in to read it

  3. According to various news paper outlets in Switzerland, the Valais construction commission has imposed an immediate ban on the use of certain installations on the Theodul glacier in Zermatt. Based on the plan of the proposed downhill slope, the commission had determined that part of the installations were partially located outside the approved ski area on Swiss territory.
According to the news outlet http://www.Watson.ch, the new Gran Becca ski race course in Zermatt-Cervinia is now also under scrutiny of the Italian authorities. The public prosecutor’s office in Aosta has opened an investigation into the work on the Italian side of the slope.

  4. POW is getting a bit like greenpeace, loosing its trustworthiness step by step. It comes across as an organisation which is more about money and power, than actual change. Also snow conditions on the glaciers this October are good. Locals, who care about these glaciers a lot more than anybody else, got attacked for no reason with false accusations for the hard work they do.

  5. Does everyone realise there are excavators on that glacier every year?
They fill in crevasses as there is year round skiing up on the glacier.
The problem is moving ice off the glacier to parts of the race course not on the glacier.

What I don’t recall from skiing there one August is if there is snow making. Power usage aside but surely that amount of ice snow is readily replaceable in a colder part of the year.

And as you say lots of big piles of snow for jumps up there too. And some big holes in mountains that the cable car drops you off in and you walk through.

  6. Hey guys, something needs to be cleared up, the post from POW Switzerland you quoted

that one, does contain pictures taken of the work on the Theodul Glacier in Zermatt/Cervinia, you can compare them to the pictures in this news report to confirm

    https://www.20min.ch/fr/story/ski-alpin-a-zermatt-on-charcute-le-glacier-pour-des-courses-de-ski-415882340701

The FIS complaint was about a different post that was worded differently and where the pictures were clearly marked as from Austria and the location was explained in the comments.

The FIS rebuttal which was inaccurate in many ways has caused a lot of confusion around this.
