I sat down with Kristin Sinnott, Jonathan Ellsworth, Kara Williard, and Justin Bobb to do a bit of a recap on our 2024 Blister Summit, which took place in Mt. Crested Butte last week. We go over a few of the MANY highlights of the event, and then dive into a bunch of the products we were each able to try at the Summit.

I’m so sorry to hear about your (and the community’s) loss. He was \my favorite reviewer, not least because we had shared a taste for beastly skis like the Fischer 107Ti. I also really enjoyed his podcast contributions, most recently his observations about the Dynafit Tigard on GEAR:30. This really, really sucks, and I can’t imagine what you all are going through right now. Hang in there!
Maybe you could add TorkSmash ™ ratings to your reviews of the new Moment Commanders in tribute?
Adding: I verified that the victim’s identity had been published in the Gunnison Times before posting here, since I wasn’t sure whether that was supposed to be public. Hopefully I haven’t committed any faux pas.
Blister mentioned his passing in their Feb 14th newsletter, so don’t worry. Thank you for linking the GoFundMe, hopefully with support from the community his family can, at the very least, not have to feel the weight of the financial burden on top of what is already an unbearable loss.
At the risk of spamming the comments, if (like me) you were sufficiently influenced by Eric’s work that you wish to support his community and chosen charities in the wake of his passing, you can do so here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/EricFreson.
I’m pretty sure this is legit, since I see donations from a bunch of other Blister reviewers there (I spotted Dylan, Kara, J Bobb, and David Golay at a quick glance).
Luke, what length of the woodsman 100 did you go with?
I was on the 181 cm, which felt like the right length for me and the conditions that day.
