Today I’m talking with Luke Koppa, Kara Williard, and Dylan Wood about some of the notable gear we’ve been reviewing this season. We also discuss Christmas quesadillas; whether it’s okay to put sweaty ski socks on boot dryers; and we launch a new GEAR:30 segment called Crashes & Close Calls.

At risk of being called pedantic, if Kara Williard had your current insurance product instead of the one she had, wouldn’t she potentially have been out of pocket even more? She said the total cost of her ACL operation was around $40,000.00 and she had to pay $13.000.00 + physio at $125.00/week. How would she have been better off if the Spot coverage is for only $25,000.00 Or perhaps I missed an important detail. (and yes, living in Australia and having recently had a ski accident resulting in a trip to the ER and a resulting bill of seventy Australian dollars (that’s about $47.00 US) to pay for a leg brace and crutches, can only leave me to shake my head at the mind blowing cost of health care in the USA.)
