We just wrapped up another outstanding Blister Summit, so Blister Summit Director, Kristin Sinnott, and I caught up to share a few of our favorite moments, discuss the new things that took place this year (including the late-night DJ set / dance party that broke out in Blister HQ); and talk about the future of the event.

  1. Kristin and Jonathan:

Fun show and again a great week in CB for me. I am still in recovery mode with a bit of a cold myself.
Lots of highlights from the week including:
    * Getting to meet and ski with the team.
    * The Introduction to Back Country skiing at Snodgrass Trailhead. I am trying to figure out how a So Cal guy can do this safely and economically.
    * Meeting Luke and giving him a bad time about eating a 3 day old hamburger on your Taos trip ( He probably had ZERO idea of what I was talking about).
    * Skiing Pinball (Even though it kicked my butt).
    * Kristin’s Morning Corduroy Crew, and the Salomon Stance 90’s. I skied 2.5 days on this ski all over CB.
    * Skiing with Jonathan, and talking old guy Football. Thank You for making the time especially after Karaoke.
    * Kara’s Easy Bump Meetup on Thursday with Drew Peterson. Only at CB can something like Headwall be considered mellow / I have a great pic / video from my Go Pro of a “Who Needed Blister + / Crashes and Close calls” moment on Sylvanite.
    * Skiing with and Introducing my friend Rob to the Blister universe.
    * Crested Butte is a Hard and Gnarly mountain for sure: Steeps, Big and Small Moguls, with some Rocks and Tree stumps in the mix for flavor. However, the hardest runs on the mountain by far are the traverses and the Drop In’s. Million Dollar Hwy should be renamed to “the Pathway to Crashes and Close Calls” or “Turn Right if you have Blister+”. Honorable mention the Drop In through the trees into Headwall or better yet The Notch Entrance which should be called Rocks of Ages.
    * Getting to check out Blister HQ. OMG, talk about being a kid in a candy store.
Well time to start saving my nickels and selling lots of shipping so I can make the trip to next year’s summit.

Thank You for a great week. It has been the biggest highlight on my “midlife crisis” Ski Tour adventure.

  2. Well it sounds like I missed out on a fun week :/ Glad it sounds like it went super well for you guys though!

Just curious, did you guys have anything set up to help connect solo attendees looking to split up lodging costs?
