  1. On a hut trip last week in Canada, one of our guides said they had seen guide observations/reports circulating that reporting interference between Alpride’s supercapacitor system and beacons in search mode. The gist of it was wearers with a beacon in search mode were seeing phantom signal pickups on their beacons. I haven’t seen directly, but was repeated on tests with different beacons. I haven’t seen it reported anywhere yet, but would be curious to test or track down instances of this – have you guys heard anything here?

  2. Question about the Salomon MTN Summit. It looks to have a similar Velcro cuff buckle closure system to the Scarpa F1. On the F1 it’s fairly well accepted that you have to adjust the Velcro when you go from ski to tour because the buckle doesn’t have enough throw (or whatever you want to call it) to allow the best touring range of motion. Does the Salomon boot have the same problem?

  3. Jonathan – I think you owe it to yourself (and us) to try a Dalbello Krypton 130, since you like the narrower last (98), and it’s so different from the rest of what you test. And with K2 absorbing Full Tilt, it might be the only legit three piece left soon…
