    • Ha, while the formula seems simple (lots of growling, mumbling, and swearing), I still don’t think we could do it justice. But I definitely hope we get to hear more from Roy the pundit this season.

Actually, I hope they create a spinoff show where it’s just Roy doing commentary either on real soccer games or fake ones. I would watch.

  1. The AirBnB debate is a tough one. I totally understand the issues with housing. I lived in the mountains and then moved the front range and used AirBnB when traveling. The thing with hotels is they are crazy expensive, noisy, don’t offer much and are pretty boring. When you go on a big trip with friends you rarely see, spending time in a big house all together is the best. It’s also more economical in the sense we don’t have to eat out for almost all meals, or go to bars to hang out. Most of the houses that I’ve stayed in (split between friends ends up being cheap) are large and out of most peoples price range to begin with. I think the biggest issue facing ski towns is the same facing the US in general, which is affordable housing. I get that it is exacerbated in mountain towns, but it’s everywhere and only seems to be getting worse.
    Great conversation! Keep it up!

  2. You seemed to pass over the obvious irony, of Pit Viper having built a brand around upper middle class hipsters mockery of white trash culture, and yet now being embraced by actual white trash.

  3. While it is dangerous to speculate re: Simone Biles and her decisions to withdraw from the Olympics, she is undoubtedly dealing with serious PTSD from the sexual abuse she suffered by US Gymnastics. Most people in control want her to “just get past it,” and US gymnastic wants the whole issue to be ignored. But that is certainly contributing to her difficulties in being able to compete to her highest abilities.
