Intro

Today, Rossignol announced all of the new skis they’re launching for the 2025-2026 season, including the one we’re discussing here, the Sender Free 100. It and several of Rossignol’s new skis are available now through Rossignol’s website and select dealers, with a full launch happening at the usual time later this year (typically around early Autumn in the Northern Hemisphere).

(You can also check out our First Look at the new Arcade 94 for more info on that ski and Rossignol’s expanded 25/26 Arcade collection as a whole.)

The Sender Free 100 helps round out Rossignol’s freestyle / freeride Sender Free collection, offering a more agile and firm-snow-friendly alternative to the bigger Sender Free 110 and Sender Free 118

We’ve already had multiple reviewers on multiple lengths of the Sender Free 100; if you’re a BLISTER+ member or have our Digital Access Pass, you can check out our initial on-snow impressions in our Flash Review of the Sender Free 100

While we continue to test this ski, below we’ve added some more info on its design.

What Rossignol says about the Sender Free 100:

“Ride, slash and blast across the entire mountain. The Rossignol Sender Free 100 skis push the freeride progression anywhere the snow leads, inbounds and out. This full-sidewall ski combines the playful response of a rockered powder ski with the confident grip of an all-mountain board. Twin rocker combined with progressive sidecut supports smears and controlled tail and nose presses in powder. Its lively wood core and lightweight AirTip serve up plenty of pop to inspire your next line. The mountain is your playground, and the Sender Free 100 is all in. Turn wild.”

Construction

The Sender Free 100 features a PEFC-certified poplar wood core, Rossignol’s “V-A-S” system (in short, vibration-damping rubber inserts near the tips), and the latest version of the brand’s signature “Air Tip” inserts (which are meant to reduce swing weight). That’s rounded out with a fiberglass laminate and Rossignol’s “high-density” sintered base.

Compared to its wider sibling, the Sender Free 110, the Sender Free 100 does not feature the 110’s carbon / basalt / fiberglass “Carbon Alloy Matrix,” nor does it feature the metal layer that covers the 110’s midsection (which Rossi dubs their “Titanal Beam”).

Shape & Rocker Profile

The Sender Free 100 looks a whole lot like the Sender Free 110. Both feature very little early tapering at their tips and tails, resulting in pretty long effective edges.

The Sender Free 100’s rocker / camber / rocker profile is nearly identical to the 110’s, though the 100 features a bit more camber underfoot. Compared to other freestyle- and freeride-oriented skis around the same width, the Sender Free 100’s rocker lines are fairly average in depth, and it features what I’d call a fully twinned tail.

Flex Pattern

Here’s how we’d characterize the flex pattern of the 184 cm Sender Free 100:

Tips: 7
Shovels: 7-8
In Front of Toe Piece: 8.5-10
Underfoot: 10
Behind the Heel Piece: 10-8.5
Tails: 8-7

And here’s how we’d characterize the flex pattern of the 178 cm Sender Free 100:

Tips: 7.5
Shovels: 7-8
In Front of Toe Piece: 8-10
Underfoot: 10
Behind the Heel Piece: 10-8
Tails: 7.5-7

Relative to most freestyle-oriented skis, the Sender Free 100 is on the stiffer end of the spectrum, and its flex pattern feels nearly symmetrical. Compared to the Sender Free 110, the Sender Free 100’s flex pattern is quite similar overall, though the 100 feels a tad softer near the ends of the ski.

Sidecut Radius

Fairly standard stuff here — the 184 cm Sender Free 100’s stated sidecut radius is 20 meters.

Mount Point

The Sender Free 100 has a pretty centered recommended mount point. The line on our 184 cm pair measures -3.2 cm from true center, while our 178 cm pair’s line is -4 cm from true center.

Weight (and Comparisons)

Our 184 cm Sender Free 100 weighs about 1985 grams per ski, and our 178 cm pair weighs about 1910 grams per ski. That makes this ski fairly light for its size, though a lot of its direct competitors come in at similar weights. However, this does differentiate it from the wider Sender Free 110 and 118, both of which are notably heavier for their respective classes.

For reference, here are some of our measured weights (per ski in grams) for some notable skis. As always, keep in mind the length and width differences to try to keep things more apples-to-apples.

Some Questions / Things We’re Curious About

(1) The Sender Free 100 looks very, very similar to the bigger Sender Free 110, but they differ in a few important aspects, so just how similar will they feel on snow?

(2) The Sender Free 100’s recommended mount point and twinned tail should help when it comes to freestyle performance, but what skiing styles does it best suit, and will some directional skiers also get along with it?
