Markus Eder on Training, Pressure, Mental Prep, & the Golden Age of Skiing (Ep.233)

Our guest today is Markus Eder, one of the greatest (and most versatile) big-mountain skiers ever. Hoji just stated this again on Friday on our GEAR:30 conversation, and on our Blister Podcast (ep. #193), Cody Townsend called Markus’ Ultimate Run the best ski edit of all time.

Markus and I talked about training; skateboarding as prep for ski season; the golden age of skiing; “sending yourself numb”; competing on the FWT; filming the Ultimate Run; lessons learned from Hoji and Sam Anthamatten; the Volkl ‘Built Together’ program; and more.

  1. Two great interviews in one week. Hoji and Markus, wow! Was finding it hard to get stoked for skiing after a great fall of biking, but these interviews and a snowstorm in Calgary, have made me excited to get on the snow .

  2. Glad we got confirmation of the next Revolt ski, that it’s a directional charger is very interesting! Not what I was expecting from the prototype that’s been shown… already looking forward to 2024 gear :P
