Intro
Salomon recently announced their first boot models to feature two BOA closures for both the lower shell and upper cuff. Until now, single BOA closures were only used on the lower shells of ski boots, promising more uniform tightening and easier fine-tuning compared to traditional buckles – but no boots had utilized a BOA on the upper cuff. That changed following the announcements of several dual-BOA boots, including Salomon’s new S/Pro Supra Dual BOA collection, which we covered in our initial writeup.
For the past few years, Salomon’s S/Pro Supra series has served as their medium-volume offering in the all-mountain category, offering a roomier fit than their S/Pro Alpha series but with similar features, including a fairly lightweight build, heat-moldable shells and liners, etc. For the 25/26 lineup, Salomon will offer S/Pro Supra boots with traditional buckles, BOA dials for the lower shell, and the new dual-BOA variants.
Now that we have the new S/Pro Supra Dual BOA 120 GW boots in hand for long-term testing, we’re adding some of our measured specs and photos here. We’ll continue testing it moving forward, so keep an eye out for Flash Reviews, as well as a video on our YouTube channel, where we’ll show exactly how these dual-BOA systems function.
Additionally, for more on the R&D process behind the S/Pro Supra Dual BOA boots, check out episode #332 of our GEAR:30 podcast, where we chat with Salomon’s Lauren Samuels and Cesar Brouck about how they settled on this final design.

Weight (and Comparisons)
Our 25/26 S/Pro Supra Dual BOA 120 GW weighs about 1850 grams per boot for a size 26.5. That puts it on the lighter end of the spectrum for fixed-cuff alpine boots, but there are several comparable boots that are similar in terms of weight, including Salomon's own lower-volume S/Pro Alpha 130.
